Baseball Bat Requirements
Revised 2/1/2018
It is the intent of Patterson Park Baseball to provide a safe environment for all youth to learn and experience the sport of baseball. Patterson Park Baseball wants to keep families informed while minimizing the impact of ever changing equipment requirements. As such it is a belief that for play at Patterson Park Baseball facilities a broad acceptance of safe equipment best serves that purpose.
8U and Below
No markings restrictions.
9U - 14U
USSSA and USA Baseball bats are allowed. The maximum bat length is thirty-three (33) inches and the maximum barrel diameter shall not exceed 2 3⁄4” inches. All bats must be labeled with a USSSA 1.15BPF or USA Baseball sticker.
15U - 18U
For 15U through 18U, only bats that are BBCOR certified for NFHS use, wood composite which is BBCOR certified, or one piece wood bats will be allowed.
Considerations
- Some tournaments will have their own rules so check with them before you enter.
- If you are considering purchasing a bat today, which you intend to use for multiple years, please consider purchasing a USA stamped bat, as some local tournaments may start to require the USA sticker in the near future.
- Bats are not to be tampered with by rolling or otherwise altering them.
- For 15-18u players planning to play for their local Middle School/High School team after Patterson Park, they should reference their school bat requirements.
